Fictional Dominoes

Domino is an extremely popular board game in which players place a series of domino pieces at one end of a table, each having a set of pips that corresponds with numbers on a die. Their goal is to set up their dominoes so that when one domino falls, it causes others to follow and ultimately results in chain reactions resulting in them winning the game.

Domino is also used to refer to a theory regarding the rise and fall of communist countries known as the Domino effect, where an increase or decrease in one country’s communist influence will ripple through to neighboring nations in similar fashion. Domino is an enjoyable board game popular among both children and adults of any age and can be played with any number of players simultaneously.

Fiction writers can use the domino effect as a writing aid, using its concept to craft scenes that flow naturally. No matter whether you use free writing techniques such as pantsing or Scrivener outlining, it’s advisable that each scene acts like its own domino that will impact those before and keep your story progressing forward. This ensures each scene logically leads into its successor scene and keeps your plot moving.

The domino concept can also be found in science, as a mathematical principle which describes an orderly sequence. This principle can help us describe how computer programs operate by showing us which programs cause another to run and thus enable more complex programs to be designed.

Domino is also the name of a mutant who joined X-Force. After working for the National Security Agency, she was recruited by Milo Thurman (Michael Grant) to assist him. On an mission in El Salvador, Domino successfully disabled an electromagnetic pulse capable of disabling combat droid Jericho with its neurologically controlled enemy CIA agent Ekatarina Gryaznova’s EKATARINA GRYAZNOVA’s control resulting in feedback that left an operative unconscious and unconscious as feedback left her unconscious as she joined forces with Sunspot and Siryn to infiltrate the research facility involved with anti-mutant experiments and infiltrated it with fellow Wild Pack members Sunspot and Siryn to infiltrate it together as well.

After initial misgivings of Cable, Domino eventually rejoined the team to assist them in stopping S.H.I.E.L.D’s Operation Zero Tolerance. She was assisted by her brother Lazarus’ mutation which allowed him to control human emotions; ultimately stopping cyborg Reavers leader Donald Pierce from using Lazarus against civilization with its help.

Domino later returned to freelance mercenary work and helped her old Six Pack teammates, Grizzly and Hammer, stop Blackbird and Corben from using their technology to develop a techno-organic world engine. Later she was taken over by Undying alien Aentaeros who convinced her to help kill Semijan. Later still Pete Wisdom offered to turn X-Force into an active black ops unit; but she rebuffed this plan due to his desire to use her to control Aentaeros’s son Corben; so she rejoined Wild Pack instead.
